There’s a lot to be said for sheer luck when capturing photos. The name of the game in landscape photography is waiting until the the light is just right, picking the ideal composition from an endless environment of trees, tussock and natural beauty. It was by sheer luck that I happened to be by this tarn just as the sun was peaking above the hills, illuminating the golden tussock below. For all of the other times I have spent camped out for hours waiting for the conditions to align, this image was just pure luck and equally as satisfying.
